Music

The music ministry at Oakland is a vibrant part of our church life. We are led by Paul Putnam, a gifted musician, teacher, and spiritual leader. There are places for everyone to become involved.

Oakland’s Chancel Choir prepares anthems and special music for each regular Sunday Worship Gatherings, in addition to preparing Cantatas for Christmas and Easter, and special music for Music Appreciation Sunday. The Chancel Choir is an active participant in the Singspiration events held with local churches and takes its music ministry to the home bound residents of Lake Prince Woods Retirement Community.

The Hand Bell Choir performs at various times during the year bringing hand-bell preludes to the regular Worship Gatheringss.

Partnering Ministries

Missions at Oakland

At Oakland, we are always looking for ways to connect people to the life-changing presence of Jesus Christ, whether locally in our own backyard or overseas. Everything we do must pass this simple 2-way test:

  1. Does it help people get better connected to each other?
  2. Does it help people get better connected to God?
